Tara N. Morgan

MD

Dr. Tara N. Morgan is a board-certified urologic surgeon. She devotes most of her professional time to urologic surgery at Duke Raleigh Hospital, with a clinical focus on minimally invasive/robotic approaches to urologic oncology, specializing in kidney and prostate cancers, benign prostatic hyperplasia, and ureteral/kidney obstruction. The remainder of her time is dedicated to resident, fellow, and medical student teaching as well as research and administrative work.  She serves as an assistant professor of surgery in the Duke Department of Urology at Duke University and is also a Duke Cancer Institute faculty member. She serves as the director of Duke’s Robotic Surgery & Minimally Invasive Urologic Oncology fellowship.

Dr. Morgan is an accomplished speaker and academic, having authored over 40 peer-reviewed publications and multiple textbook chapters. She has contributed significantly to the literature on benign prostatic hyperplasia management, kidney and prostate cancer, and surgical education. She has been a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and an active member of numerous professional societies.

Dr. Morgan earned her B.S. in microbiology from the University of Pittsburgh and her M.D. from Drexel University College of Medicine in 2014. She completed her general surgery internship and urology residency at the University of Pittsburgh, followed by a fellowship in minimally invasive surgery at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center.
