Dr. Rut Patel currently serves as the Director of Robotics at Advanced Urology, where he leads advancements in minimally invasive surgery with a focus on cutting-edge techniques. During his tenure at USC and Rutgers, he participated in over 500 robotic and laparoscopic procedures utilizing Intuitive Surgical’s DaVinci™ Xi, X, and Si platforms. Since joining Advanced Urology, Dr. Patel has performed over 1,200 robotic procedures, reflecting his extensive experience and dedication to excellence in minimally invasive surgical care. During that timeframe, he has overseen the development and growth of a truly outpatient robotic surgery center at the Alpharetta office. He has also been an early adopter of the DaVinci Single Port (SP) system and has the distinction of performing the first DaVinci SP case in the Piedmont Health System. His extensive expertise includes all urologic surgical pathologies, with a specialization in single port procedures and retroperitoneal access for partial nephrectomies.

In addition to his clinical accomplishments, Dr. Patel is a prolific contributor to academic medicine. He has co-authored multiple publications and textbook chapters and has presented his research at regional and national conferences. A passionate advocate for his patients, Dr. Patel is committed to providing state-of-the-art surgical techniques that ensure a swift recovery and return to daily life with minimal impact on a patient’s quality of life.

Dr. Patel is an active member of the American Urological Association and has held several leadership roles during his training. He also holds a master’s degree in electrical and computer engineering, having earned summa cum laude from Stevens University.
