Ruslana Lebedko

RNFA

I am Ruslana Lebedko, a dedicated healthcare professional with a diverse background and a passion for nursing. Armed with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and over 13 years of experience as a Registered Nurse (RN), I have devoted the last five years to specializing as a Registered Nurse First Assistant (RNFA) with a focus on Robotic Urology surgeries.

My journey in healthcare commenced 15 years ago when I worked as a freelance translator for the healthcare system, fluently navigating Ukrainian, Russian, and Polish. My fascination with various facets of medicine inspired me to transition into nursing. I pursued an Accelerated BSN and officially entered the nursing profession in 2010. Choosing to embark on my nursing career in the operating room at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, New York, I underwent comprehensive training in General, Thoracic, Cardiac, and GYN surgeries.

However, it was within the Urology Robotic Service line that I discovered my true calling. After completing an orientation, I found myself drawn to the intricacies of Robotic Urology surgeries and decided to specialize in this field. In 2018, I successfully completed the didactic and clinical components of the first assist program at the University of Rochester, earning my status as an RNFA with expertise in Robotic Urology surgeries.

In my role as an RNFA, I have taken on a responsibility of developing comprehensive Robotic training materials. These materials cover essential aspects such as Da Vinci troubleshooting, Emergency undocking procedures, and guidance for operating room staff unfamiliar with Robotic rooms, as well as those new to the service, RNFA, and travel nurses.

Beyond my professional endeavors, I am a passionate traveler, avid hiker, and enthusiastic skier. My greatest joy comes from spending quality time with my family, creating a harmonious balance between my fulfilling career and personal life.
