Pamela Wright
BSN, RN, CNOR-ROBO, RNFA
Pamela Wright, BSN, RN, CNOR-ROBO, RNFA, is a perioperative nurse and surgical first assistant at Memorial Hospital of Carbondale in southern Illinois. She specializes in minimally invasive and robotic surgery and serves as the hospital’s Robotics Coordinator, supporting program growth, workflow optimization, and the integration of new surgical specialties and technology.
Pamela began her perioperative career with a strong interest in technical precision, patient advocacy, and the dynamic environment of the operating room. She earned her CNOR-ROBO credential, advanced her clinical practice with the RNFA certification, and has since become a key resource for robotic-assisted surgery and complex perioperative workflows.
In her role as Robotics Coordinator, Pamela partners closely with surgeons, administrators, and perioperative staff to maintain safe, efficient, and standardized practices across all robotic service lines. She plays an essential role in onboarding new surgeons, strengthening team competencies, and preparing the institution for the transition from the da Vinci Xi to the next-generation da Vinci 5 platform.
Pamela is deeply committed to education and interprofessional development. She regularly teaches and mentors nurses, surgical technologists, surgeons, residents, and medical students—providing both hands-on and didactic instruction in robotic surgery, instrumentation, and OR best practices. Known for her clarity, patience, and supportive teaching style, she helps learners build confidence and consistency in a highly specialized environment.
Beyond her clinical and educational roles, Pamela serves as the President-Elect of AORN Chapter 1402, where she contributes to chapter leadership, local programming, and the advancement of perioperative practice regionally. She will also represent her chapter as a 2026 AORN Expo delegate.
Outside of work, Pamela enjoys being with her dogs, outdoor exploration, photography, journaling,
and crocheting. She values continuous learning, teamwork, and elevating the profession of perioperative nursing.
Pamela is honored to present at this year’s conference in Las Vegas and looks forward to connecting with colleagues and sharing insights to strengthen surgical practice nationwide.
