Nina N. Harke
MD
Dr. Nina N. Harke, MD, FEBU, is a Professor of Urology and leads the robotic urology department at Hannover Medical School in Germany. She began her medical residency in 2008 at Missioklinik Wuerzburg and launched her career in robotic surgery as a console surgeon in 2013 at the Prostate Center Northwest in Gronau, Germany. Over the past decade, she has actively participated in a wide range of national and international conferences, attending as a participant, award recipient, presenter, moderator, and live surgeon.
Since her residency at an esteemed robotic center in Wuerzburg, Prof. Harke has been developing an international database on partial nephrectomy, which has formed the foundation for numerous multicenter studies. During her role as Head of Scientific Research in Gronau, she initiated and led several prospective, randomized trials on robot-assisted prostatectomy. Throughout her time as head of robotic urology at Essen University Hospital, she focused on enhancing both functional and oncological outcomes in robotic surgery. After starting her position at Hannover Medical School in 2020, she broadened her research interests to include radioguided surgery.
Prof. Harke is a board member of the German Society of Urology’s “Laparoscopy and Robot-Assisted Surgery” working group and was appointed chairwoman in 2024. In November 2021, she also joined the board of the EAU Robotic Urology Section (ERUS). As of July 2023, she holds the role of Co-Surgery in Motion Editor for European Urology. She is a board member of the Society of Robotic Surgery (SRS) since July 2024.
