Professor Nikhil Vasdev is an internationally recognised leader in robotic urological surgery and urological oncology, with expertise spanning advanced cancer surgery, artificial intelligence, and academic leadership. He is Professor and Chair of Robotic Surgery at the University of Hertfordshire and a Consultant Urological and Robotic Surgeon at the Hertfordshire and Bedfordshire Urological Cancer Centre, Lister Hospital, UK.

Professor Vasdev is Associate Medical Director for Cancer Services at East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust and an internationally accredited robotic urology proctor, mentoring surgeons across Europe and Asia. He is the International Section Editor for Urology in Gray’s Surgical Anatomy (2026).

A national AI Champion (UKRI/EPSRC Responsible AI UK), he has received multiple international awards for innovation in robotic surgery and AI-driven cancer care. He has performed over 1,800 robotic procedures, published extensively, and continues to shape global best practice in urological oncology. He has published 240 peer review papers and 20 textbook chapters.
