Haydee Manfrede

Haydee Manfrede is a nursing educator for the inpatient operating room at
Hackensack University Medical Center (HUMC). She is responsible for training one
of the largest classes of new team members while partnering with current staff to
continue their education. In this role she designed and implemented a data
collection system to better track and address orientee progress.

She started her nursing career in the medical-surgical specialty before transitioning
to the operating room. With over 5 years of OR experience, she holds the Certified
Perioperative Nurse credential. She served as charge nurse with the responsibility of
all evening staff assignments. She specializes in surgeries using the Intuitive da
Vinci Xi and Single-Port systems. She has scrubbed and circulated every robotic
case that HUMC has to offer in the specialties of urology, general/colorectal,
thoracic, gynecology, and ENT. Her experience comes from a robotics program that
is in the top 1% in the United States after reaching 25,000 robotic surgeries and the
first to complete 1,000 Single-Port surgeries. HUMC serves as one of Intuitive’s Total
Program Observation sites, which gives other hospitals the opportunity to learn from
leadership at a world-class robotics program. Haydee is a contributing speaker to
this program alongside experts like Dr. Michael Stifelman, Director of Robotic
Surgery. She is also a contributor to annual robotic contact hour training for staff
across the Hackensack Meridian network. She graduated from New Jersey City
University with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, finishing 1st in her class.
