Deok Hyun Han
MD, PhD
Deok Hyun Han, M.D., Ph.D., is a professor in the Department of Urology at Samsung Medical Center, which has about 2,000 beds and is located in Seoul, South Korea. He earned his Medical Degree at the Seoul National University and completed an internship at the Seoul National University Hospital. Then he moved to Samsung Medical Center to complete his urological residency and was certified by the Korean Board of Urology. During his fellowship at the Samsung Medical Center, he focused on advanced endourology and minimally invasive surgery.
He has expertise in flexible ureteroscopy, percutaneous kidney surgery with his own primary access, and ureteral reconstruction. He has also performed various laparoscopic surgeries, including conventional, hand-assisted, single-port, and robot-assisted laparoscopy. He performed many live surgical demonstrations at many global and regional academic meetings.
He is highly motivated to develop and apply novel devices and techniques in minimally invasive surgery. He is the Vice CMIO and the Director of the Data Service Team at the Office of Digital Transformation in Samsung Medical Center. He also serves as the Panel Chair of the Data Review Board in SMC.
He has been a board member of the Korean Society of Endourology and Robotics (KSER) since 2010. Now he is the Director of the Academic Committee of KSER.
